Fire Training

Fire Safety is governed by the Regulatory Reform (FireSafety) Order 2005.

Employers are required to

  • Provide and maintain such fire precautions as are necessary to safeguard those who use your workplace.

  • Inform, instruct and train your employees about the fire precautions in your workplace.

Basic & Fire Awareness Course

This course provides the skills and confidence that will allow staff to carry out their duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures.

Who should attend

  • All staff

At the end of the course the student will:

  • Be aware of the dangers of fire

  • Understand the nature of fire and how it spreads

  • Be aware of simple fire prevention measures

  • Understand what to do in the event of a fire alarm

  • Be able to distinguish between different types of fire extinguishers

  • Be able to tackle small fires safely and effectively

  • Be equipped to perform their fire safety duties

Content

  • Basic fire prevention

  • Evacuation

  • Chemistry of combustion

  • Practical ‘first-aid’ firefighting on live fires

Certificate

A certificate is provided confirming attendance


Fire Warden & Fire Marshal Course

Who should attend

Key staff who have been selected for fire warden or other enhanced fire safety responsibilities.

Objectives & Content

  • Everything from the Fire Awareness Course

  • Non Emergency Responsibilities

  • Emergency Responsibilities

  • Performing a supervisory / managerial role in any fire situation

  • Liaising with the emergency services on their arrival

  • Detailed knowledge of the fire safety strategy of the premises

  • Formulating an emergency action plan

  • Any other matters specific to individual premises

Certificate

A certificate is provided confirming attendance.


Online Fire Training

Abbey Fire UK Ltd can offer both the Fire Awareness course and Fire Warden course online.

The training contents

  • Presentation which will be covered within a face to face training session and will cover all areas that are stated on this page.

  • Live fire fire extinguisher videos that have been created by our Fire Risk Assessors so they can show the correct way to use a fire extinguisher.

  • 10 question multiple choice test with a 90% pass mark.

Certificate

Once the test has been successfully passed, a certificate will be sent to you within 24 hours of your result.
